Proverbs 17:8-15 The Scriptures 1998 (ISR98)

8. A bribe is a stone of favour in the eyes of its owner; Wherever he turns, he prospers.

9. He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends.

10. Reproof enters deeper into a wise man Than a hundred blows on a fool.

11. An evil one seeks only rebellion, So a cruel messenger is sent against him.

12. Let a bereaved bear meet a man, Rather than a fool in his folly.

13. Whoever rewards evil for good, Evil does not leave his house.

14. The beginning of strife is like releasing water; Therefore stop fighting before it breaks out.

15. He who declares the wrong right, And he who condemns the righteous, Both of them are an abomination to יהוה.
