Luke 24:32-45 Modern English Version (MEV)

32. They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the way and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

33. They rose up and returned to Jerusalem at once. And they found the eleven and those who were with them assembled together,

34. saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

35. Then they reported what had happened on the way, and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

36. As they were saying this, Jesus Himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be unto you.”

37. They were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they saw a spirit.

38. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39. See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Feel Me and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

40. When He said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.

41. And while they yet disbelieved for joy and wondered, He said to them, “Do you have any food here?”

42. They gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb.

43. And He took it and ate it before them.

44. He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets and in the Psalms concerning Me.”

45. Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
